Directed by internationally renowned Chilean filmmaker Pablo Larraín (No, The Club), Jackie is a searing and intimate portrait of one of the most important and tragic moments in American history, seen through the eyes of the iconic First Lady, then Jacqueline Bouvier Kennedy (Natalie Portman). Jackie places us in her world during the days immediately following her husband's assassination. Known for her extraordinary dignity and poise, here we see a psychological portrait of the First Lady as she struggles to maintain her husband's legacy and the world of "Camelot" that they created and loved so well.

”Portman has to play it all here; it’s a four-quadrant performance with the extra added weight of avoiding an impersonation of one of the most recognizable women in American history. That she not only pulls it off, but does so while never feeling like she’s reaching, is breathtaking. Portman inhabits Jackie, making her both bigger and more human than we’ve seen her before. We all know the Kennedy story by heart, but you’ll still never look at Jackie the same way again.“ – Will Leitch, The New Republic | full review

“It's a revelation, a steady gaze into the early years in which the American presidency was a site for crafting an image not just for the history books, but for the cameras... Pablo Larraín is from Chile, which might make him a less than obvious choice to direct Jackie, a movie about America’s first lady: Jacqueline Kennedy. The pairing, however, is inspired — partly because Jackie is played to perfection by Natalie Portman...” - Alissa Wilkinson, Vox | full review

“It's a very rare thing when a movie transcends so perfectly making the viewer feel something of what its tormented protagonist experienced.” - Jonathan W. Hickman, Daily Film Fix | full review

“Jackie
doesn’t try to complete that impossible, apparently unfinishable movie, the never-ending epic known as “The Assassination of President John F. Kennedy and What It Means to History.” Instead, set largely after his death, it explores the intersection of the private and the public while ruminating on the transformation of the past into myth.” – Manohla Dargis, New York Times | full review

“A potent cinematic provocation. Powered by a transfixing Portman as Jackie, Larrain's film - one of the year's best - is appropriately hard to pin down and impossible to forget.” - Peter Travers, Rolling Stone| full review

“A searing, almost scary thrill ride through the psyche of one very determined woman ... a reminder that JFK's visage owns the half dollar because Jackie owned Americans' hearts.” - April Wolfe, Village Voice | full review
