A supremely pleasant vacation
IndieWire Critics Pick

A film by Michael Winterbottom
Cast: Steve Coogan, Rob Brydon, Marta Barrio, Claire Keelan

United Kingdom | 2017 | 115 min | Comedy| Not Rated

After jaunts through northern England and Italy, Steve Coogan and Rob Brydon embark on another deliciously deadpan culinary road trip. This time around, the guys head to Spain to sample the best of the country's gastronomic offerings in between rounds of their hilariously off-the-cuff banter. Over plates of pintxos and paella, the pair exchange barbs and their patented celebrity impressions, as well as more serious reflections on what it means to settle into middle age. As always, the locales are breathtaking, the cuisine to die for, and the humor delightfully devilish.

Screenplay: Michael Winterbottom
Cinematography: James Clarke
Editing: Mags Arnold, Paul Monaghan, Marc Richardson

“I laughed like a drain ... It's the funniest film of 2017; it's that simple.” - CJ Johnson, ABC Radio (Australia)
| full review

“Michael Winterbottom makes the most of the scenery, the colorful cuisine, and the witty banter. Here humor is an antidote to the disappointments which are part and parcel of the experience of middle-aged men.” – Frederic and Mary Ann Brussat, Spirituality and Practice | full review

“If you're a fan of the first two movies, it's hard to imagine that you won't like this one.” - Owen Gleiberman, Variety | full review

“So, It is a formula. Who cares, when you have these two in full flow? Frankly they could hop round a few more European countries as Winterbottom’s original insight into this unlikely conceit manages to still hold.” - Julian Wood,
Filmink (Australia) | full review

“Like a fine wine or a stinky cheese, Winterbottom's The Trip movies have only gotten more mature with age, and Spain is the most thoughtful one yet.” - Erin Oliver Whitney, ScreenCrush | full review
