STEMversation with Mr. Beau Campbell and Prof. Tina Kuhn, “Paleontology: Digging for the Truth”

Event Description:

The School of Science is pleased to host the first STEMversation of the 2019-2020 academic year.  Mr. Beau Campbell, a Senior Preparator in the Dinosaur Institute of the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County and Professor Tina Kuhn will co-present a talk on Paleontology. The presentation will include information about Mr. Campbell’s work in the La Brea Tar Pits in California and at the Natural History Museum.  They will also discuss the excavation Mr. Campbell and Professor Kuhn participated in this summer in Utah, as well as other current work in the field of paleontology.  The presentation will also include a discussion of Mr. Campbell’s path into this field and the likely trajectory of careers in it.  The event is sponsored by the US Department of Education’s STEM ISLE and associated “Paleontology: Preserving the Past for the Future” grants and will include a question and answer session.  **This event rescheduled from 9/5 due to Hurricane Dorian**
