The Earth Ethics Institute is partnering with Fairchild's Native Plant Network and the Montgomery Botanical Center for a fun educational tour of their research collections. Learn more about native plants and pollinators, international botanical research on palms and cycads, gardening skills, and more!

Here is our tentative schedule:

10 am: Arrive to Montgomery and walk to Fairchild Nursery

10:15 am: Fairchild Nursery Tour + Growing Natives Demo with Bryan

11 am: Native Plant Network & Ecology Presentation with Daniela (Daniela will give students seeds, and EEI will pickup plants for our gardens)

11:45 am: Civic Action Scorecard Activity: ES-1 (10 Native Plants)

12 pm: Walk to Montgomery to have Boxed Lunch at the Smiley Building

1pm: Intro to Montgomery House + Coontie Cycad and Atala Demo with Vincent

1:30pm: Walking Tour of Montgomery Gardens with Tracy

3pm: Departure from Parking Lot

Students are responsible for their own transportation. We recommend carpooling as much as possible. We will meet in the parking lot of the Montgomery Botanical Center at 10am: 11901 Old Cutler Road, Coral Gables, FL 33156. If transportation is a concern, please email Yadira Capaz, ycapaz@mdc.edu, EEI Program Professional at Padron Campus to figure it out together.
