Submission Deadline: September 30, 2026

The purpose of this event is to embrace the seen and unseen lives of people with disabilities and invite

those without disabilities to understand and commemorate the array of diverse abilities we possess.

Submission Guidelines

All artwork needs to be prepared for display (i.e. canvas, framed) upon submission. The submissions should

illustrate and support people with disabilities. Any work deemed offensive or obscene will be rejected.

The 1st place winner will be featured in Vol. 37 of the Miambiance Art & Literature Magazine.

Artwork will be displayed from Oct 5 - 30, 2026 at the Learning Commons, 1st floor, building 2.

Three finalists will be selected based on the art piece and artist's statement. 

According to Section 504 of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), a person with a

disability means ·any person who 1) has a physical or mental impairment which

substantially limits one or more major life activities. [including seeing, hearing, speaking,

breathing, learning, and work] 2) has a record of such an impairment. 3) is regarded as

having such an impairment.
