Join Kislak Center Curators Dr. Carol Damian and Arthur Dunkelman with local historian Dr. Seth Bramson for a fascinating peek into the history of the Florida East Coast Railway (FEC) and its role in developing Florida. The FEC was developed by Henry Morrison Flagler, an American tycoon, real estate promoter, railroad developer, and John D. Rockefeller's partner in Standard Oil. The building of the railroad is the story of the building of South Florida. Dr. Bramson, the foremost historian on the subject, will talk about its building and challenges. He will also provide the audience with the unique opportunity to view items from his personal collection - one of the largest collections of Florida East Coast Railway collectibles- during a show-and-tell portion of the event.
