"What hurts the victim the most is not the cruelty of the oppressor, but the silence of the bystander"- Elie Wiesel.
What does it really mean to help a survivor of domestic violence? Another chance at freedom, safety, or maybe just the comfort of knowing someone, anyone, still cares? Navigating domestic violence can be difficult, but together and only together will we be able to make life-saving changes. In this workshop, participants will learn the role of an active and empowered bystander, the resiliency that abounds within survivors of domestic violence, and ways to support those who seek help safely.
This workshop is presented in honor of Domestic Violence Awareness Month. For more information on how to support survivors visit https://www.mdc.edu/preventsexualviolence/mdc-shark-initiative.aspx .
