Shared learning experiences of exploring ideas and creating together, these programs include artist-led hands-on artmaking and fun collaborative activities for the whole family.
On August 6, artist Asser Saint-Val leads participants in creating sculptures of imaginative creatures in multicolored clay.
Born in Haiti, Saint-Val earned BFAs in both Painting and Graphic Design from New World School of the Arts, University of Florida, Gainesville. His work investigates Neuromelanin as it relates to spirituality and self-consciousness, and he explores these ideas in paintings and multi-sensory interactive art installations. The artist’s works are quasi-figurative and ambiguous and bring together ideas central to modern debates about Neuromelanin. Saint-Val has exhibited at the Museum of Art and Design at MDC (2014); Farside Gallery, Miami (2013); and Miami Dade County Public Library (2008). He lives and works in Miami.
Open to children ages 5 and up and their families.
Classes will be held between 11 AM - 12:30 PM and 1:30 PM - 3:00 PM
Participation in GOGO MOAD is free, but space is limited. Please register in advance. Walk-ins may be welcome if space is available. Admission fees to the park are not required to participate in the program.
The admission fees to visit the Gardens at Pinecrest Gardens are $5 for general admission; $3 for seniors 65+; free for children under 2 and active military and immediate family.
