Students introduce Janie Speaks, a Creative Research in the Humanities project inspired by Zora Neale Hurston’s Their Eyes Were Watching God. The event features short student presentations and a preview of their artwork, accompanied by live jazz and blues from the Miami Pixel Symphony. Together, they highlight Hurston’s influence and the themes of voice, freedom, and self-awareness that shape her work. This program serves as a preview of the full Janie Speaks student art exhibit opening later in the semester.
