Join us for the inaugural Environmental Center workday! The MDC Kendall Campus Environmental Center sits on globally-imperiled pine rockland, an endangered ecosystem found primarily in Miami Dade County, and is a certified wildlife habitat. This hidden MDC gem has been closed since Hurricane Irma and is in desperate need of some love. Be a changemaker and help us bring the Kendall Campus Environmental Center back to life!
Work will include the removal of invasive exotic plant species, cleaning around the chickees, and trail improvement. It will be hot and buggy, and there is a good deal of poison ivy--lightweight long pants, and a long-sleeved shirt are required, as are a hat and close-toed shoes (no sandals, flip-flops, or Crocs, please).
Snacks and refreshments will be provided!
