Dr. Kirtman is a world-renowned research scientist and professor, specializing in climate and atmosphere studies.  Dr. Kirtman has served as the Program Director for Climate and Environmental Hazards at the Center for Computational Science at UM since 2007. In 2020 he was appointed as the deputy director of the institute for Data Science and Computing at the University of Miami.
