Audience: Faculty

During the session, participants will learn how to use Panopto video recordings to engage students in the learning process and how to enhance their lessons by embedding interactivities into the videos and creating student assignments and discussions. Basic video editing, importing videos, and using search and retrieval tools will be also be covered. Most importantly, participants will learn the steps for enabling and editing the Closed Captions to make their videos ADA compliant.


After successful completion of this workshop, participants will be able to:

  • Provision their courses with the LMS system
  • Record a lesson via Panopto or another video conferencing tool
  • Access and manage the Panopto account via the Web as well as the LMS
  • Create student assignments and discussions
  • Embed Panopto videos into the different content areas in the LMS
  • Edit, enable Closed Caption and share a recording
  • Discuss instructional uses for using videos for teaching and learning 
  • Discuss best practices for recording and sharing videos

This is a self-paced, fully online workshop.
