Racism and its Affects on Society

"You are not born a racist. You are born into a racist society. And like anything else, if you can learn it you can unlearn it. But some people choose not to unlearn it, because they're afraid they'll lose power if they share power with other people. We are afraid of sharing power. That's what it's all about."

Dr. Elliott is a lifelong educator, author, and award-winning anti-racism activist. She will discuss race and politics, combating racism, and how race and racial inequality have shaped American history. She will also focus on unlearning racial biases and recognizing its impact on our communities. There will be a Q & A session following the online presentation.
