Join us for a fun and relaxing experience exploring how art has shaped our understanding and protection of the natural world. Inspired by the drawings in John James Audubon’s Birds of America and other artists who brought the beauty of wildlife to life, this event highlights the powerful role creativity plays in conservation. Participants will learn how botanical art can raise awareness about clean air, water, and soil while deepening our connection to local ecosystems and the species that depend on them.

Envirocorps member Melissa Murray from the Earth Ethics Institute will share a presentation on the history of botanical drawings, then lead the group in some drawing exercises with samples of famous illustrations, tracing paper, and still life objects.

We will create our own nature-inspired print to take home for the holidays to serve as a personal reminder of how creativity can nurture stewardship and inspire others to care for our planet!
