Fried fish, a staple in African American culinary tradition, has evolved through socioeconomic changes, reflecting the Black community’s entrepreneurial spirit and crowdfunding needs. It has reinvented itself across the African Diaspora, becoming more than just a meal but a cultural rite. Fish fries serve as social gatherings for friends, family, neighbors, and loved ones, celebrating community and heritage. Join us for a live catfish filleting demonstration, cooking, and tasting, and immerse yourself in this rich cultural experience while reflecting on sustainable fish farming and eco-friendly diets.
