Are you ready to make a difference and ensure your voice is heard? Are you ready to learn, meet other students, and improve your knowledge and skills? Join us for an exciting and interactive student summit on Saturday, September 21st at MDC Wolfson (bus transportation provided!). This is your chance to meet local community leaders and representatives from the Department of Elections, learn why voting is crucial, and discover how it impacts your life.

At this nonpartisan summit, you’ll:

  • Learn about local issues like affordable housing, climate change, and transportation.
  • Explore how to register, make a plan to vote, and be election-ready.
  • Understand what’s on the ballot and how to prepare for the November elections.
  • Earn points on the Civic Action Scorecard towards a Civic Action Award.
  • Build your Changemaker Hub transcript, resume, and transfer application.
  • Ensure you are fully prepared to vote and help your peers do the same.
  • Learn how you can become a paid poll worker with the Dept. of Elections!
  • Plus, you’ll meet other students, make new friends, and have a lot of fun along the way!

Requirements

This event is open to all MDC students interested in civic engagement and voting - even if you aren't eligible to vote in the United States - all are welcome. You must commit to the full day (at MDC Wolfson in downtown Miami) from 9:30 am - 4 pm. The event starts at 9:30 am sharp. Bus transportation will be provided from each MDC campus for those who need it. Free parking is available, and you can also get to Wolfson on the Metrorail and Metromover.
